What is “The SoulBall Way”?
“Evidence of the impact of “The SoulBall Way”
has been amazing.”
SoulBall is not ‘another’ football coaching session. It is not a futsal session either.
So what makes SoulBall different?
Drawing on the Founder’s (Christopher Ryman) strong background in education, futsal, football and street football and his desire to see children happy, confident, skilful and creative with a ball at their feet, The SoulBall Way is an innovative approach to developing children’s creativity, technique, confidence and enjoyment with a ball by fusing the core elements of futsal, football and street football.
Some of the ways we do this are:
SoulBall 360 – Developing young players the 360 way is at the very heart of SoulBall and made up of the 4 SoulBall pillars – Read more here
Lots of Ball – We believe the more a player touches the ball, the more enjoyable it is, the more confident they become and the more their technique improves.
Tailor-made Sessions – We have developed games, skills and practices that are wholly centred around Enjoyment, Technique, Creativity and Game Intelligence. All children are involved with the ball all of the time.
Small Sided – We play a lot of 1 v 1s, 2 v 2s, 3 v 3s & 4 v 4s. We believe small-sided games are essential for developing a player’s confidence with the ball and their movement without the ball.
Small Space – Playing in small spaces naturally develops creativity, quicker-thinking and quicker feet. The small space we use is intentionally thought out.
Groups – Depending on the space being used a group size can vary between 12 and 16 players to a coach.
Culture – We highly-value creating a very positive and encouraging environment, knowing that a child best learns and develops when he/she is enjoying him/herself, are being encouraged, are believed in and feel cared for.
